INBETWEEN MOVEMENTS

You are cordially welcome to a weekend-long dance / movement workshop led by Soňa
Ferienčíková a Martina Hajdyla Lacová, Slovak performers and
choreographers. For the 21/22 season, Soňa and Martina, themselves close
friends and long-time collaborators, teamed up with renowned Hungarian
choreographer Adrienn Hód to create and perform SOFT SPOT, a
successful performance that will also serve as a key inspirational source
for the workshop.

How do you conceive of movement? How do you perceive the space in
which you’re situated?
These are questions posed to us at the outset of SOFT SPOT creation,
and we’d like, in turn, to pose them to you.
Over the course of the weekend, we shall work through improvisation
and simple tasks, nurturing imagination, sense of presence, reflection and emancipation of the body. Each of us will present a particular way of engaging the body, develop its faculties and physical possibilities. We shall look for specific meanings within the body and its gestures, and develop them further.
This workshop is open to all who love dance and movement.

Project is organised by BOD.Y ngo in collaboration with PLAST and Telocvičňa - Rezidenčné centrum pre tanec a performatívne umenie.
This workshop was financially supported by using public funds from Slovak Arts Council. Another partner of the project is Bratislava Self - govern Region.

BIO:
Soňa Ferienčíková is a dancer, teacher, choreographer and founder of BOD.Y ngo. She had worked with many Slovak and international artists and companies and had performed in Europe, Mexico, Israel and China. Her solo EVERYWHEN was nominated for Slovak theater award DOSKY 2018.
Martina Hajdyla is a dancer, teacher, choreographer and founder of ME-SA. She graduated from Conservatory in Slovakia and Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. She was granted Dancer of the Year Award 2015 for SuperNaturals.
