KONTAMINÁCIE: BETWEEN PAINTING, BOTANICS AND DIFFERENT SOURCES OF KNOWLEDGE

Monika Pascoe Mikyšková (*1983) is a visual artist, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, studio of painting and new media. In her work she combines scientific knowledge with art and personal mythology. She deals with the theme of nature, in which she often thematizes the cycle of growth and decay, through a layered web of media and means of expression. She is a laureate of the Oskar Čepan Prize 2023, the Novum 2020 Foundation Prize , in 2015 she was awarded the Essl Art Award CEE- Collector Selection and in 2007 she placed 3rd in the VUB Painting Competition. She has exhibited at home and abroad, in 2024 she participated in the symposium Crossing Borders- Central European women in art organized by the MAK museum in Vienna.
