DANCING FROM THE CORE [B.EDGE.FEST]

With this workshop, I would like to invite you to reconnect with your own body. Rather than technical aspects or composition, this workshop focuses on your personal expansion and well being.
During the weekend, you will be able to gradually access your core - the part of you that contains your creative, curious and inventive self. Through movement (and I look at voice as a vibrating movement too) you will be able to experience, recognise and enrich the creative potential you carry within yourself. The workshop offers a safe space, in which you are free to consciously loosen up and trespass the expectations and worries holding you from expressing yourself. Reconnecting to your playful, curious self in a kind and mindful atmosphere allows you to experience togetherness without the pressure of socio-economic contexts.

Project is organised by BOD.Y ngo in collaboration with PLAST and Telocvičňa - Rezidenčné centrum pre tanec a performatívne umenie.

BIO Peter Šavel
choreographer, dancer, dance teacher, life coach
Peter has a BA in Dance Pedagogy from the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Bratislava. He furthered his dance studies in Brussels at P.A.R.T.S., and he finished there in the summer of 2010. He is since then based in Brussels, Belgium. 
Since 2011, he has worked with Belgium-based choreographer Pierre Droulers at Charleroi Danses - dancing in the restaging of "De l'air et du vent" and dancing and assisting Pierre in "Soleils". 
​In May 2013, Peter began work with Belgium-based choreographer Salva Sanchis and has since appeared in the projects "The Phantom Layer", "The Organ Project", "Islands", and "Radical Light". 
In 2016, Peter became a dancer in the piece “Prototype” by Marc Vanruxt, founder of the Belgian company Kunst/Werk. Peter currently performs in Marc’s "Drawings". They premiered the new work “Pink and orange” in October 2021, while Peter also continues collaborating with Kunst/Werk as one of the satellite artists.​​​ He is at the same time one of the artistic ambassadors of Studio Alta in Prague.
In 2020, Peter also expanded his professional activities with Life coaching.
As choreographer, Peter creates his own work in Belgium and abroad. He is currently offering his class, titled ”Letting go”, around Europe to both amateurs and professionals, teaching regularly at the P.A.R.T.S. Summer School. Peter is also mentoring different projects of young choreographers and dance makers.
